Answers to Frequently Asked Questions About Southern Ontario Wood Harvesting

How much is a tree worth?

Prices vary from tree to tree based on species, area, soil, previous management of woodlot. We would be happy to assess the woodlot to provide you with more specific information.

Do you work year round?

Yes, although we do not work if the area is extremely wet. We care about our footprint.

What kind of equipment do you use?

We use a cable skidder to bring the logs out of the bush and a skid steer to organize logs on the landing for loading onto log trucks.

How often can I harvest my woodlot?

This depends on growing conditions and how the woodlot has been managed in the past. If using a sustainable forestry plan, many landowners are able to harvest every 8-10 years.

When do I get paid?

We pay in full prior to beginning the harvest.

Is it important for the logging company to have insurance and WSIB? Do the cutting and skidder operators really need to have their certificates?

YES. This is for the landowner’s protection.
